Psyche: a NASA orbiter type spacecraft launching in 2022 to explore the asteroid (16) Psyche between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, it’s equipped with a solar-electric propulsion system that uses the electricity generated from solar panels to propel the craft. 

The area of the orbiter is 24.76 meters x 7.34 meters (81 feet x 24 feet), but most of this area belongs to the solar panels, while the body of the orbiter is only 3.1 meters x 2.4 meters (10 feet x 8 feet.) What’s special about this spacecraft is its instrumental payload that includes a new technology being tested called “Deep Space Optical Communication” that uses photons, specifically laser lightو to communicate back with Earth.
