InSight: a lander type spacecraft launched towards Mars by NASA in 2018. The design of the lander is based upon an earlier design of the Mars Phoenix mission also by NASA. InSight is powered by two 2.2 meter (7.2 feet) solar panels, and it has two cameras; one to aid in selecting the location of dropping scientific instruments, and another to provide view of the working area on the surface.
The deck of the lander holds some scientific instruments, including a seismometer to measure marsquakes and vibrations on the surface of the red planet. The robotic arm of the lander is the one responsible for picking up the instruments and placing them on the surface to perform science.
